I only gave this a 4 star rating because I hate not getting an ending to the story at hand. It is written in a different style in that when Charlotte was considering the Pact she didn't go over good & evil, and I certainly didn't like how she only waited until after the Pact, Char seemed to think it was time to ask questions that I think most readers already had. It was interesting and the story moved. I to admired the demon more than, Liam who just seems to sweet for sugar. Things I was disappointed in: the ending, Char lack of questions before her pact, Char lack of curiosity of that bottom level of her condo (while Liam is out of commission), and it ending the way it did. Yes I like things that are brought up to stir me to be kinda gone over just a little in the novel to complete me for my satisfaction of reading the ONE. To be honest, the way this novel was ended will affect my decision to pick this author again, because I will have the thought in back of my mind how many volumes before a satisfactory ending. However, if you are fine with this then the book ended on a great tease and you will be looking for the next one in series. Story was great and just a beat different than normal. If you are extremely religious and dislike anything that might hint living not on God's side is just not done, this isn't for you! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a very quick read. The only reason I gave it 4 four stars was because there wasn't an ending (at this time). I typically do not read books where I will have to order another book to follow the story line because I am impatient for an ending. In this instance, I will definitely buy the next book so I can see where this story goes because I need to know what happens with the characters.
I truly enjoyed reading the first of many books from Lauren Lee. This book kept me intrigued and wanting to read on and on. The plot was thrilling and refreshing. Living in Buffalo it was nice to have our wonderful city represented in a great laid out plot being a type of mystery thriller that keep me wanting to read more and more.
I'm looking forward to reading the all the books to go in the "Demons in New York" series....!

This book was more than I expected! (In a good way) I normally read urban paranormal, and this definitely lives up to the genre! I can’t wait to get my hands on the other ebooks!
I liked it. Would probably read book two. It felt as if there were a lot of scene gaps. And the scenes that were meant to be hot and steamy were just an afterthought. Like oh yeah we had sex. It was rushed.

Charlotte’s Pact is the first book in the Demons in New York series and the debut novel for author Laurèn Lee. The story line is unique, gripping and filled with many twists and turns. The characters are well developed, complex and I was immediately hooked! In the beginning, the story switches back and forth between past and present, but not in a confusing way.
In this story, Charlotte and her best friend, Tori, are finishing their last year at college. Tori sets Charlotte up on a blind date with Liam, a friend of Tori's boyfriend. They hit it off and soon are living together and getting engaged. Then, Charlotte and Liam are involved in a very bad car accident and the story REALLY takes off!
A fabulous story!
Can’t wait for the next book to find out what will happen next!

Charlotte's Pact was a quick and easy read. I literally read it in a couple of hours. From the moment you meet Charlotte and Tori, you are pulled into their silly, bantering of a friendship, their college plans, and the futures they are so hopeful for.
The author, Lauren Lee, bounces between the past and the present initially and the execution is flawless. I never once found myself looking back to double check which part I was in, past or present. And the pace was quick without leaving out anything important.
Fast forward to where we meet Liam...hmmm, this handsome, rich, successful man Tori and Adam set Charlotte up with. He has to be too good to be true. Right? It's hard for me to say too much about Liam, because if I do, I might give something away and I hate to do that. However, maybe you'll know it when you read it and you'll come running back here to comment and tell me you know what I wanted to share, but couldn't.
Then theirs Adriel. Oh Adriel. All I can say is I CAN'T WAIT FOR BOOK 2!
As I read Charlotte's Pact I put myself in her shoes. What I would do if faced with the same dilemma. It doesn't take much thought to know I would do the same thing. But if I later found out what she does... OH MY GOD!! I'd be looking for the loopholes... or would I? I mean, for Charlotte it seems like everything happened for a reason.
The "To Be Continued" was great. I was left thoroughly wanting more. More Charlotte. More Liam. More Adriel. I want to know what happens. I NEED TO KNOW!
